The Siskiyou County Resource Collaborative

The Siskiyou Community Resource Collaborative (SCRC) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation, formed when seven Siskiyou family / community resource centers unified under a single umbrella organization. This increases capacity and assures long-term sustainability of this unique community-based system.

Current participating organizations include:

  • Dunsmuir Community Resource Center

  • Family & Community Resource Center of Weed

  • HUB Communities Family Resource Center of Montague

  • Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center

  • Yreka Community Resource Center

  • Scott Valley Family Resource Center

  • McCloud Community Resource Center

Serving several rural and isolated communities, our SCRC centers coordinate the efforts of multiple organizations to provide a framework for local access to services and support.

SCRC provides an operating structure that is mindful of unique community culture and assets, while providing consistency in operating standards, training, cost and resource sharing opportunities.

These centers strive to provide comprehensive and integrated services to support the unique needs and strengths of the individual, the family and the surrounding communities.

About Family Resource Centers

Family Resource Centers (FRCs) are vehicles for change.

They are a key strategy for addressing many of the challenges that face individuals, families and communities. They serve a crucial role in bridging connections between community, professional service systems and voluntary support networks. These links are essential for enduring change.

FRCs enhance community involvement and provide a framework for local access to services and support.

They provide a place where families and community can come together to learn and connect in a safe and supportive setting. In this environment, families and individuals learn to contribute to their own, as well as their community’s well-being.

FRCs work with community partners to bring resources and activities together into an integrated service system.

FRCs are essential community partners and serve as models for a culture of collaboration. FRCs promote the use of existing resources through multi-agency coordination toward commonly held goals. Resources are leveraged with foundation, local, state and federal funds.

Resources, services and programs typically include:

  • Family support

  • Parenting education

  • Father involvement

  • Family activities

  • Child abuse prevention

  • Community awareness and education

  • Job training

  • Application assistance

  • Veterans assistance

  • Prevention of homelessness

  • Senior activities and services

  • Youth activities

  • Alcohol and drug / relapse prevention

  • Injury prevention

  • Health and nutrition promotion

  • Mental health outreach and prevention

  • Budgeting

  • Tax preparation assistance

  • Resource and referral and volunteer opportunities.

FRCs also connect community members in need with emergency food, clothing, transportation, housing, fuel and other emergency support.

They often serve as community gathering places, provide relevant and up-to-date information about resources and services and, at times, provide safe locations in the event of wildfire and extreme weather events.

Our mission is to develop a collaborative network of services and supports…

that strengthen the ability of children, youth, adults and families to live healthy and productive lives. This builds their capacity to contribute to the well-being of themselves, their families and communities.

“Healthy families = healthy communities.”
